Daniel
Bernard Roumain has been described as a combination of "Mozart,
Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Prince---just as far-out and creative and
in another world." Mr. Roumain was born in Chicago, Illinois
in to a largely non-musical family. He grew up in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale
area and was immediately exposed to a multitude of cultural musics,
ethnic diversions, international playing styles, musical philosophies,
ideologies, and mannerisms. By the time Mr. Roumain had entered high
school, he had already performed and collaborated with artists ranging
from Ray Charles, to Dizzy Gillespie, to the infamous 2 Live Crew.
Daniel's musical expression spans a broad range of genres, including
his band DBR's Mission, works for The American Composer's
Orchestra, music for dancer/choreographer Bill T. Jones
and his dance company, and the Uhuru African Dance Company. |
